I would be remiss........

I would be remiss if I didn't include a picture of the band with our first guitarist, Michael Gregory (bottom right), who now has his own band, MAD DASH, in northern California. His link can be found with the other links on this blog, so please check it out. Mike made it possible for me to contact the other people in the group and I owe him a great deal of thanks!! ROCK ON MIKE!!!

Joy -

If you've ever seen Moulin Rouge, then you may recall that the Bohemians living in Paris in 1899 called themselves: The Children of the Revolution.

Likewise, many of us who were born just as Watergate was about to explode, and just as Vietnam was winding down, are also Children of the Revolution.

In many cases, our parents - who came of age in the Sixties - passed on a nostalgic appreciation for the music and other cultural touchstones of that era. Their era.

I am only 36. I missed all of the Sixties. Born in the early Seventies, you might not expect someone like me to be interested in this stuff; you'd be wrong.

Thank you for starting this blog, and thank your former bandmates and you for sharing your stories with us.

Believe it or not, there really is an appetite for this music and these stories (even among those who weren't alive to experience it all firsthand).

How cool would it be to see some of Stony Brook People's material sampled in some of today's socially-aware artists' songs?

After all, each generation stands on the shoulders of the giants of prior ones.
